Travelling to the Conference

Air Travel

If you are a non-local participant, you will probably fly into Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI). There are a number of options for getting from the airport to the SMC Campus Center and back again.

Directions to reach the SMC Campus Center, and details on nearby parking services, can be found here. Specific directions from Baltimore to BWI Airport are available here.

We recommend parking in the Pratt Street Garage. If it is full, park in the Penn Garage, right across the street. In the extremely unlikely event that is full as well, tell the attendant that you are with the ACS group and he will direct you to another garage on campus. The fact that we reserved parking for the event means only that there is guaranteed to be a space for everybody in one of the campus lots on those days. There are no special procedures to follow: just take a ticket, park, and pay for the ticket when you leave.

Shuttles and Taxis

Shuttles and vans are available at BWI Airport (reservations are recommended) from specific designated pick-up zones. Buses and taxis are available in the same vicinity. A list of ground transport options recommended by BWI is available here. One way service to and from BWI Airport can be expected to be in the region of $25 for a shared ride, or $50 for a private car.

Light Rail

Rail transportation is also available from BWI Airport for as little as $1.60. There is a ~28 minute rail journey from the airport to Pratt Street Light Rail Station, from which it is a ~7 minute walk to the SMC Campus Center.
